I Like Thursday #110 ~ Happy October! from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to "I Like Thursday" on Friday.

Better a day late than a week wait.

I am posting my Bats & Boos Quilt one last time because I am participating in the

WIPS -B Gone 2021 Challenge @ Devoted Quilter

Details in the link above.

This quilt arrived in its new home yesterday and my daughter sent me a few photos.

I decided to post the one of my grand-pup, Sierra, who loves my quilts.

Sierra is looking older and grayer around her face.

Sierra with her soulful eyes looks to be saying,

"My turn on the Grammy quilt, please."

We have ...

Slow Stitching Sunday ~ Binding My Bats & Boos Quilt from Life in the Scrapatch

My Bats & Boos Quilt, clipped and ready to bind.

Today I added this bright check binding to my quilt and am slowly hand stitching the binding to the back of the quilt.

As always, Katniss is my faithful quilty kitty inspector for this part of the process.

This is one of my favorite parts of making a quilt.

I love sitting and hand stitching.

My favorite moment is taking that last stitch on the back and turning over my beautiful finished quilt.

Hopefully, that will be sometime tomorrow.

Linking up tonight with

Slow Stitching Sunday @ Kathy's Quilts

where there ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 37 ~ Back to Quilting from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome To Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 37

I have been quilting my Bats & Boos Quilt.

Nutmeg has been my ever present quilty helper and inspector for this quilt.

This is the first quilt that I have had on my long arm since early this year.

Where has the time gone?

Even Nutmeg looks puzzled.

Katniss is unconcerned.

As long as Katniss has her basket in the window, she is a happy cat.

I am quilting all over swirls of cauldron smoke on the backgrounds.

For the blocks, I am adding some custom free guided quilting.

It is good to be ...

My Witch Hat Block Tutorial from Life in the Scrapatch

Witch Hat Block ~ Tutorial

Here is my promised tutorial for the Witch Hat Block,

which I designed for my ...

I wanted to make a block with a large purple triangle to add movement to my quilt and extend the purple from the bat blocks and the orange from the pumpkin blocks into the outer block border.

I researched free witch hat blocks online and did not find one that worked,

so I designed my own block.

I am very happy with how this worked up.

Here is how I made my plan. I drew the block up ...

As I have a lot of Halloween quilts, I am making this quilt for my daughter,

who wants to use it as a throw quilt on her sofa.

I love the pattern but it is wall quilt size, so we decided to make it larger.

I am adding a wide border ...
